Advanced Training; Meeting the World with Intentionality - FREE EVENING MAY 28TH

WHEN:
May 29th - June 1, 2008
MAY 28TH, FREE EVENING; SEE DETAILS BELOW

WHAT:
“In those moments when awareness succeeds in being at one with feeling, senses, movement and thought, the carriage will speed along on the right road. Then man can make discoveries, invent, create, innovate and ‘know.’ He grasps that this small world and the great world around are but one and that in this unity he is no longer alone.”
Moshe Feldenkrais, “Awareness Through Movement,” p.54

Awareness is the central teaching of Moshe. He saw clearly that without a significant growth in this capacity, human freedom was impossible and we were bound to the past.
He also saw that the actual survival of humanity depended on this growth.

This advanced training will focus on growing spontaneous awareness on all levels of experience. In addition to ATM and FI, we will use other awareness practices that will explore patterns of thinking, feeling and relating in ways that are completely congruent with the FM. We will also explore how spatial awareness can change our sense of self and body.

For many of us there remains a gap between the ‘inner world’ that we cultivate in ATM and the ‘outer world’ of every day life. It is helpful when this distinction dissolves. Functionally, meeting the world involves an emphasis on our teleceptors, limbs and our sense of space. It includes how we touch with our hands and feet, how we make contact, how we push, pull, let go, embrace, reject, reach, take in, keep out, etc.

Intentionality relates to developing ‘will forces’ which require clarity of self, other, directionality and spatial orientation. How do we both create and allow the creation of satisfying, fulfilling and life-giving futures for ourselves and others? What is the relationship between ‘allowing’ and ‘intending?’ I am excited to embrace these issues on the table, on the floor and in our lives.

DETAILS:
$450, Early bird tuition rate of $395.00, if paid before 5.1.08.
Make your check out to Russell Delman, and send it to:
Russell Delman
467 Cahill Lane
Santa Rosa, CA 95401
Or contact Allison in the office at: office@russelldelman.com

WHERE: Location in Manhattan to be announced (Suggestions welcome!)
N.B. Free Evening for practitioners on May 28th, 7.00 – 9.30 pm at The Feldenkrais Institute, 134 West 26th St.: “Re-visioning the Future: Exploring Moshe’s Legacy within 21st Century Consciousness.” We will explore Moshe’s history and his vision for humanity; what the modern world needs from us; how we need to change to meet these needs.
Please contact Barbara Forbes at: barforb@hotmail.com or 212-663-2875; or Kathy Yates at: ktyatesd@aol.com or 212-989-8668.
